Day 1 – Airport to Negombo
On your arrival to Sri Lanka, you will be awaited by a T2 Travels representative. After the meet and greet, we will embark on our trip to Negombo.
The city of Negombo is located near the airport, on the western coast of Sri Lanka, and is a perfect place to recover from the jet-leg after a long flight.

Day 2 – Negombo to Sigiriya
After breakfast at the hotel in Negombo, we will embark on the trip to Sigiriya.
In the morning we will visit the Negombo Fish Market. The city was started centuries ago as a fishing village, and today is a place of the largest fishing market in Sri Lanka. Here you can see the action of hustling and bustling fish auctions.
On our way, we will also visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a cave temple complex which was founded in the 1st century BC, and is still an active place of worship. Through centuries it was decorated with more than 150 statues of Buddha and more than 2,100 square meters of religious wall paintings, all in the different styles of bygone eras.
In the afternoon we will embark on the Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park. It is located on the banks of a 3rd century AD reservoir, which attracts a large number of animals searching for food and water during the dry season. Here we can see a wild elephant herd numbering almost 200 individuals.

Day 3 – Day trip to Polonnaruwa
After breakfast at the hotel in Sigiriya, we will embark on an excursion to Polonnaruwa.
With archeological evidence showing a human settlement dating from the 10th century BC, Polonnaruwa is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. The ruins of the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, which we will visit, were the city from which Sinhala kings ruled the island for almost 15 centuries, until its fall around 1017 AD.
In the afternoon we will embark on the Village Safari. On a catamaran boats and bullock cart ride, and by walking the trails, we will get to know the rural life of Sri Lankan countryside.
Later we will again visit the stunningly beautiful Minneriya National Park.

Day 4 – Sigiriya to Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel in Sigiriya, we will get on the road to Kandy.
In the morning we will climb the Lion Rock, and explore the Sigiriya Fortress on the summit of this 200 meters high natural formation. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was built in the 4th century AD, and with its palace gardens, and the city around the rock is one of the most stunning examples of ancient architecture.
Continuing on our way, we will visit Spice and Herbal Garden, and learn about Sri Lankan spices, which according to legend even the biblical King Solomon imported and enjoyed.
From 4 pm in the afternoon, we will attend a cultural heritage show. The Kandyan Dance Show, which is a must-see for any visitor of Sri Lanka. Through centuries Sri Lankan national dances have developed from various religious rituals, as a representation of historical events, legends, and nature.
If the time allows it, we will also visit the Gem Museum, traditional Wood Carving Factory, and the Batik Factory; where you can learn about these traditional industries.

Day 5 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will start our trip to Nuwara Eliya.
The first stop we will make at Peradeniya, where Royal Botanic Garden is located. This botanic garden boasts with more than 4,000 plant species, and the most famous is their collection of orchids.
Nuwara Eliya is most famous for waterfalls and tea estates. And we will visit a Tea Factory, where on a guided tour you can learn about the history of tea production in Sri Lanka and taste some of the best tea in the world.
Afterward, we will visit the Shri Bhakta Hanuman temple. A Hindu temple dedicated to Hanuman, a Hindu deity and one of the central characters of epic Ramayana. We will also visit the Ramboda Falls, the 11th tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka.
After arriving at Nuwara Eliya, we will spend leisure time at Lake Gregory, a colonial-era dammed lake, which is a popular fishing, boating, and jet-skiing location.

Day 6 – Nuwara Eliya to Bentota
We will start the day early, at 5 o’clock in the morning. Breakfast is provided in the form of a takeaway in the Horton Plains National Park.
Early in the morning, we will visit the Horton Plains National Park. This wildlife protected area is situated on a plateau more than two kilometers above sea level. It is a very popular trekking location, and the most popular sight is the World’s End, a sheer cliff of around 1,200 meters in height.
Afterward, we will visit the Seetha Aman Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Sitha, wife of Rama, and one of the central characters of Ramayana. This temple was built on the place where according to the legend she spent part of her captivity described in the Ramayana. The nearby wooded area is known as Ashok Vatika, and according to the legend here Hanuman has presented, under an Ashoka tree, to Sitha the ring belonging to Rama, thus proving his identity as Rama’s loyal servant.
Continuing on our way, we will see the St. Clair’s Falls, also known as the Little Niagara of Sri Lanka, and Devon Falls often called the Veil of the Valley.
Our next stop will be in Kitulgala, where we will embark on adrenaline-inducing White Water Rafting on the Kelani River.

Day 7 – Day trip to Galle
After breakfast at the hotel in Bentota, we will embark on an excursion to Galle.
On our way, we will make a stop at Kosgoda. Here we will spend an hour on River Boat Safari in Madu Ganga River, and explore the marshy mangrove forest of its banks. Afterward, we will visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project, a hatchery and one of the most important institutions dedicated to the protection and preservation of these magnificent creatures.
When we arrive in Galle you will have the opportunity to explore the Galle Fort. Considered as the best-preserved European fortification in Sri Lanka, today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its historical buildings are meticulously restored to their 17th-century glory. Originally built by Portuguese in the 16th century, and greatly expanded by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th, it is a representative example of European influenced architecture in South Asia during the colonial period.
Then we will return to Bentota.

Day 8 – Bentota to Airport
The end of your tour through Sri Lanka has come to its end, and it’s time to bid farewell to the island and fly back home.
