Upon our arrival in Kandy we will attend the Kandyan Dance Show. This cultural heritage show consists of traditional dances that developed over centuries from religious rituals and as an art form.
After the show, we will visit the Sri Dalada Maligawa. Also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, this temple is one of the holiest places of Buddhist worship in Sri Lanka and home of the sacred relic of Buddha’s tooth.
A direct trip from Bandaranaike International Airport to Kandy typically takes 2 hours and 30 minutes, and you will stay overnight at Hotel on the Bed & Breakfast basis, with breakfast included in price.
Day 2 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will start on our way to Nuwara Eliya.
The first stop on our way we will make in Peradeniya, where the Royal Botanic Garden is located. These gardens were constructed in the place where the royal palace gardens of one of the first Kandyan kings once stood. Today, it is home to more than 4,000 different plant species. Among them, the most famous is the collection of orchids.
Continuing on our way, we will visit a Tea Factory. The cool climate of Sri Lanka’s mountains is perfect for slow-growing tea trees, and since colonial times some of the best tea in the world was cultivated here. On the guided tour you will be able to learn about this industry and enjoy the unique aromas of this beverage made from the local products.
Our next stop will be the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, one of the central characters of epic Ramayana. Just a short drive from the temple is one of the most stunning waterfalls in Sri Lanka, the Ramboda Ella. Over this tiered waterfall, water slopes in the shape of letter Y.
The temperate climate of the tea country is also favorable for some vegetables and fruits that are an unusual sight on a tropical island. We will visit the Strawberry Farm, where you can enjoy the aroma of these wholesome fruits.
Arriving in Nuwara Eliya, we will spend the rest of the day on Lake Gregory. Since it was dammed in the late 19th century, this artificial lake was a popular leisure spot. Here you can enjoy trout fishing, boating, or a romantic stroll on the banks of the lake.
A direct trip from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya typically takes 2 hours and 10 minutes, and you will stay overnight at hotel on the Bed & Breakfast basis, with breakfast included in price.

On our way, we will visit the St. Clair’s Falls, also known as the Little Niagara of Sri Lanka, and Devon Falls often called the Veil of the Valley.
Our next stop will be in the town of Kosgoda, where we will embark on a one-hour River Boat Safari. This boat ride will take us through the marshy mangrove forest on the banks of Madu Ganga River.
